Description
SYNOPSIS
The network and computer systems administrator will manage and maintain KBK’s computer systems, networks, and software, which includes providing technical support in collaboration with a managed services provider (MSP), installing hardware and software, and ensuring network security and efficiency.
KEY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Installation, set up and troubleshooting of user workstations. Train users on the organization’s network and systems; Diagnose and resolve problems when alerted by a user or an automated monitoring system;
Provide input and recommendations on hardware or software purchasing decisions. Determine organizational network and system needs and propose plans for improvements. Lead the installation and integration of new hardware and software
System and network maintenance. Make needed upgrades and repairs to networks and ensure that systems are operating correctly
Security and data management. Maintain network and computer system security; Evaluate and optimize network and system performance; Add/remove users and assign security permissions
Compliance and process improvement. Work with the security team to develop and implement internal policies, standards and processes to ensure good security risk governance.
Vendor relations. Oversee the acquisition and management of technology vendors.
Requirements
Required: A combination of relevant education, experience and training equivalent to a four (4) year degree in computer sciences and/or other technology-based discipline from an accredited college or university, plus 5-8 years demonstrated experience in:
Configuring/supporting hardware, software, and network systems
Troubleshooting and problem-solving network issues
Effective user support and team collaboration
Cybersecurity principles and best practices
Managing multiple high priority tasks and projects
Preferred:
This role requires the ability to independently manage deadlines for multiple assignments in a fast-paced, detail-oriented office environment. Key competencies include the ability to demonstrate:
Prior experience with a law firm or professional services firm
Cultural competence interacting with diverse prospective clients, vendors and staff
Problem solving and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills
Effective collaboration with colleagues, clients, vendors and other stakeholders
Strong data analytics skills
Responsiveness to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
Highest ethical compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
The position of network and computer systems administrator is an at-will position, which means they may be terminated or may choose to terminate their employment for any reason, with or without cause or advance notice, except for reasons prohibited by law.
