Role Definition
- Execute the evaluation, design, build, deployment, and continue to maintain the endpoint hardware configuration and mobile devices; using appropriate and trending technologies.
What You Will Do:
- Evaluate and make recommendations for new endpoint models based on cost, performance, etc.
- Provide consulting for custom machine configurations
- Act as AD DTE Lab Equipment Manager to ensure appropriate models are available and working. Maintain process for machine testing
- Provide mobile device management (Android & IOS) and End User mobile device support
- Perform Intune Administration, Apple Business Manager Administration and Android Administration
- Lead actions to maintain the infrastructure of IT systems that support the business to function efficiently.
- Guide the design solutions by assessing and aligning the current systems to best practices and comply to federal policies and procedures.
What you will have:
- Hardware Knowledge: Deep understanding of computer hardware components, including CPUs, GPUs, RAM, storage devices, and peripherals.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to diagnose hardware issues and recommend effective solutions.
- Vendor Management: Ability to collaborate with vendors to source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts for new hardware systems.
- Emerging Technologies: Staying updated with emerging technologies and trends in computer hardware.
- Degree Requirement: IT Degree or equivalent experience desired
Core Skills Required:
- Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
- Technology Advising: Knowledge of effective advisory methods and ability to provide valued information and advice to clients regarding products, technologies, services and solutions for a specific technology domain.
- Hardware Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and systems programming; ability to design, build and integrate IT hardware into multi-platforms for the organization.
- Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
- System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
- Systems Software Infrastructure: Knowledge of computer architecture and system software interaction; ability to design and build a fundamental architecture of operating systems, database management systems, communications protocols, compilers and other development tools.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
- Technical Writing/Documentation: Knowledge of technical writing; ability to write technical documents such as manuals, reports, guidelines or documents on standards, processes and applications.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Intune Expertise: Deep understanding of Microsoft Intune, including device enrollment, configuration, and management.
- A strong passion for hardware and emerging physical technologies, complemented by an interest in GenAI-bringing together end-user devices, infrastructure, automation, and intelligent tools to enhance user experience, decision support, and how technology is ultimately adopted and used by the people who rely on it.
- Mobile Device Management (MDM): Proficiency in managing mobile devices across various platforms such as iOS, Android, and Windows.
- Identity and Conditional Access Knowledge: Understanding of Entra identities and conditional access rules, how they interact with Intune and Device Management services.
- Knowledge of following products: MS Windows, MS Intune, Apple MacOS, Ubuntu, Android, Apple IOS and PC Benchmarking Tools

- This position is based in Peoria, IL
- Domestic relocation assistance is not available for this role.

- International and Domestic travel up to 10%
- This role requires onsite presence 5 days per week.

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $183,140.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
